I live in the U.S. with German immigrant ancestors and I want to send
genealogical inquiries to Germans with my surname, whose addresses are
listed in certain cities on the "Telefonbuch" website.
But I find that the U.S. post office no longer sells "international mail
coupons" to enclose with the letters to facilitate a response from the
addressees.
Do you know a way to address this problem? The ideal solution would be
an e:mail address directory on the order of "Das Telefonbuch" for
e:mail, but does one exist?
I'd appreciate your response.

The german email directory (equivalent to telefonbuch.de) is at
http://www.email-verzeichnis.de (german)
E-Mail Verzeichnis: Beliebte Anbieter kostenloser Mail-Dienste (english)
Please note that you are only listed in that directory if you
submitted you name yourself. Therefore it doesn't have that many
entries.
You may also try http://mesa.rrzn.uni-hannover.de/
They search several directories and therefore are also listing several
non german email addresses.
Kind regards

Hallo Juergen,
unverhofft wieder melde.
Gruss

It is too bad we could not purchase German stamps and put them on a SASE ...
