I started to upload one of two digital photographs, but received a warning during the upload that my file is 600kb and the usual maximum is 150kb. I do not have any idea how to reduce the file size prior to upload. Any suggestions?

Don't you have a program to edit pictures?
If not, try my favorite, the free IrfanView (in english and other languages)
Make a copy of your original picture and
load this copy, then click in <image> <Resize>. In the new window you can enter DPI 75 (bottom left) and e.g. on the top right side 640 x 480.
This should reduce the pic sufficiently. Safe the new pic <file> <safe
and choose a new name (e.g. mynewpic_small.jpg).
Then upload your new pic.
Have fun

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been trying to do the same thing using Adobe Photoshop Deluxe, but it's very persnickety. It just keeps getting more and more complicated and frustrating. I can post pictures directly don't get anywhere with Photoshop, I may give Irfan View a try.
Regards,
Craig

Craig:
Indeed, I use sometimes Photoshop Elements, but even this seems to much to complicated for such a simple operation. Therefore, for resizeing in general I don't bother to open Photoshop but simply use IrfanView which is fast as a flash.
Good luck
