Hi Marie,
When you go to the recent changes page on the Wiki and you see a name with (talk); what is the purpose of the (talk)??
Help:Talk pages - Wikipedia tells:
Talk pages are a special type of namespace pages, used to discuss changes on the corresponding "main" article or page. All Wikipedia articles, personal user pages, policy pages, templates, etc. have an associated talk page (linked on the English Wikipedia as "discussion" in the top menu).
*Article* talk pages are used to discuss changes to the particular article.
*User* talk pages are used to leave messages for particular users. A message box stating "You have new messages" is automatically displayed to a user at the top of any Wikipedia page, until they view their user talk page.
More on:
e.g. you can visit Wolfs talk page:

Hello Eric and Wolf,
I will be serious for a sec. I just need to know if just anyone can access our profiles that we might insert into GenWiki or do we have a choice who can see them?
In other words, is there a way that we "invite" a friend to it like they for ex. have in webshots or other sites?
Greetings
Help!!!!!! with my photo.
Sabina.

Any page in GenWiki (all languages) is accessible for everybody who can
access internet...
Your page (you called it "profile" - I understood you mean
User:logonname) is one of all article pages as well.
BUT:
All data you have entered during your "request for membership" is
protected (mail address, postal address etc.).
In other words, is there a way that we "invite" a friend to it like they for ex. have in webshots or other sites?
So you can invite everybody to read wiki-en (smile) but you need not and
you cant prevent access.
