HELP, please
I am sorry but I did not really understand now to get the article into the surname categories. When I used the special syntax: [[Category:Surname]], I ended up placing the article under alpha C on the surname index page. then I went back and changed the syntax, and of course, the article disappeared from the alpha C but did not appear under the alpha E. To top it off, I now have 4 or 5 copies of the same article on my contribution page.
1) How do I move the article to the Surname page?
2) How do I delete the extra, unnecessary articles from my contribution page?

ich brauche vielleicht Hilfe. Ich habe allerdings nur eine email soweit erhalten, aber anscheinbar laufen meine emails quer und sind zu breit. Kann mir bitte jemand dies bestaetigen, denn ich bin unter dem Eindruck, dass sie richtig laufen und nicht zu breit. (ca. 60-70)?
Sind diese jedoch zu lang, dann bitte brauche ich Hilfe. Ich weiss nicht, wo in Outlook Express ich diese kuerzer einstellen kann.

Don't be worry. I am an educated CCP/EDP adviser and have the same problems.
WIKI is not user friendly, I believe. I am proud that I could create my user
site "FitFunMax". So I see I have to learn a lot of new stuff

Hallo Sabina,
eigentlich werden die Mails beim Eingang auf die aktuelle L�nge
umgebrochen - nur im Archiv stehen sie in voller Breite bis zum n�chsten
"Enter" - aber Du kannst soweit nach rechts scrollen bis Du den Text
komplett gelesen hast - �hnlich wie bei Ecel.
Im schlimmsten Fall mu�t Du Deine Mails selber formatieren und nach den ca.
60-70 Zeichen selber sinnvoll einen Umbruch mit "Enter" durchf�hren.
Ich habe �brigens keine Probleme mit Deinen Mails.

Hi Sabrina normaly the mails were shortend to the right format, by the
computer who gets the mail. Normally only in the archiv the mails are
written as long as there is no use of "Enter". But no problem you can follw
the text with and scroll to the right side as long as you wish to read the
text - similar to EXcel.
In the worst case you format your text yourself by using "Enter" after the
ca. 60-70 signs. I got your mails normal, without any problem.

At the last line of this new article "Egner (surname)" you can enter
[[Category:Surname]]
(Exactly like this. Dont substitute anything.)

The surname page is just a BOX where the articles, which have a "[[Category:Surname]]" in the last line, are shown.
To enter a new surname you dont have to watch the page

Maybe this points out that you dont have to edit the article http://wiki-en.genealogy.net/wiki/Category:Surname
Just add [[Category:Surname]] to your own new article about a surname.
2) How do I delete the extra, unnecessary articles from my
contribution page?
click on "edit" and then delete the things you want to delete.
If you have a whole page which should be deleted, write "[[Category:Delete]]" and write a reason why it should be deleted on the "discussion" page.

Das ist mit Outlook Express leider kaum vern�nftig hinzubekommen. Es gibt
verschiedenen M�glichkeiten mit Vor- und Nachteilen:
Unter Extras | Optionen | Senden
in Automatischer Zeilenumbruch nach xy Zeichen:
Entweder den Zeilenumbruch bei ca. 71 Zeichen OE �berlassen ...
Vorteil: Dein Text wird automatisch nach 71 Zeichen/Zeile umbrochen.
Nachteil: Auch der gequotete (zitierte) Text wird nach 71 Zeichen
umgebrochen, wobei auch das Quote-Zeichen mitgez�hlt wird. Dies macht die
manuelle Nachbearbeitung der Nachricht erforderlich, falls der gequotete
Text die eingestellte maximale Zeichenanzahl �berschreitet (OE erzeugt
sonst sog. Kammquotings).
... oder den "autom. Zeilenumbruch" auf ca. 132 Zeichen einstellen.
Vorteil: Der Text, den Du quotest wird so wiedergeben, wie er formatiert
wurde.
Nachteil: Du musst in jeder Zeile Deines eigenen Textes den Umbruch nach
ca. 71 Zeichen manuell mit der [Enter]-Taste vornehmen.
