This has been amazing! Below are Diether's comments about my search. Without him and others including Peter Heckel, I doubt I would have ever gotten this information.
My brick wall was the information from Germany. Through this list, I received far more than I could have imagined. Diether forwarded Peter's pamphlet on my branch of the Meerwein family to me in a PDF file. The pamphlet included pictures and the complete family history. I am so grateful to Diether for his translation which he is sending a few pages at a time as he completes the translation.
Now I have a request from Peter. He is looking for another MEERWEIN. Friedrich Wilhelm Kurt M. , born October 26, 1875,came to the US arriving July 7, 1895 at Castle Garden on the ship "New York." If anyone here in the United States has any information on Kurt, please share. I would love to return the great favor Peter has given me.
