Guess What After attending a family funeral recently I learned my mother had a fling back in Latvia in 1944.Because of her lustful actions I was born in Oelsnitz,Germany April 1et 1945.My fathers name was Ernst Frankel.This is my first attempt at locating any trace of him.I have more info If this registers with anybody out there thank you kindly John

There might be a variation of your father's surname - Franke. I have found
that never take a German surname at face value.

I think the first step should be to find your original birth certificate.
There are two Oelsnitz, both in Saxonia and about 65 km distance between
them. Which one was your birth-place ??

I hope you have the luck to find the right name of your father in this paper
and - maybe - where he came from. Because of the German Data Security you
(and your children) are the only people to order this certificate. Nobody
else can do it.

P.S. In the German phonebook I did not find a Ernst Frankel. There are only
8 Frankel but 432 Fraenkel.
