Gelsenkirchen

I'm trying to find name for ancestors origins. I have a photo of him
from a Gelsenkirchen studio.
A birth record for his daughter lists another city as his home. I can
not make out all of it but this is what I can tell:
SCHEVE---LY It could also begin SCHERENELY but is only a guess. The
document is 50 years old.
Any ideas on this.

Hello Gordon
Best wishes from someone who used to work in GE
Might the town you search be Scholven
Now a suburb of GE
Try to send me a scan of the document, just the name of the town

Best wishes

Hi Gordon,
Words with such a beginning as SCHEVE......>like in Scheveningen?<, looks
more like a Dutch word. I have to think of the last worldwar, people of the
Dutchresistance used express codewords with such a beginning in
radiotransmissions with England, because the soft 'G' for 'CH' pronunciation
is difficult between the hard sounding German words. When you are not
normally using such words, you tie a knot in your tongue using it. That was
the reason of using it. The fact that it is a photo made in Gelsenkirchen
will say noting, it is also a place where many Dutch take there holiday.
