If this is forwarded as I am trying to do you may find it interesting. For me, I am totally unfamiliar with the site and the concept. I have not yet tried it, having just opened it this morning. I am very occupied getting ready to go to New Orleans where besides visiting
family I plan some genealogy searching. If anyone has tried it or has comments regarding the value or no value, please post.

There is nothing attached. What is attached is a text file with nothing in
it, really. What site are you referring to?

I believe that (I could be wrong) that the list is designed to drop attachments and forwarded e-mails to prevent the inadvertent/deliberate introduction of nasty bugs, worms, etc. to the list.
If you want to forward to one individual, do so to that person's e-mail address.
If you want to sent it to the list, you may have to copy and paste.
I personally am amazed at how clean, the Administrators/Owners of the list, have maintained it.
Fred are there anythings we should do to help you maintain the list bug free? That is other than the obvious.
Your understanding is correct. The mail software automatically removes the
content of attachments as that is where viruses may be hiding. It is often
inconvenient but for the sake of the cleanlyness of the list it is the way
to go. Otherwise the list is pretty much self maintaining as we don't have
crazy arguments here just open discussions about genealogy and history -
either in English or German.
