I am writing to you because I discovered an old message you had posted on a Rootsweb message board in which you stated that you have a copy of the Schubert kopulationsregister for Mecklenburg-Strelitz. I was wondering if these volumes may contain Specifically, I have been researching in the parishes between Friedland and Woldegk.
>> >For example, microfilmed marriage records for the village of
My ancestors Johann Ludwig Friedrich Dehn and Maria Dorothea Glade were married in Lindow in 1798.
Other ancestors of mine, Johann Jacob Licht and Dorothea Elizabeth Duesing were married in Lindow in 1790. Since these records have not been microfilmed, I am missing the valuable information they contain.
>> >I also have ancestors who lived in the village of Holzendorf during the Eighteenth Century, but there are no Eighteenth Century records microfilmed for that village
1. Martin Gutschmidt/Godschmidt to Anna Catharina Gruzen in the 1740s in Schoenhausen.
2. Martin Haack(en) to Maria Duesing in the 1740s in Voigtsdorf.
As for Holzendorf, unfortunately the only marriages of known ancestors that took place there were post-1750. The names were Christoph Duesing and his wife, (unknown) Wiese. Also, Joachim Friedrich Mann the son of Martin Mann married Regina Schult the daughter of Juergen Schult in Holzendorf in 1791.
I don't see the towns of Lindow, Holzendorf, Voigtsdorf, Schoenhausen mentioned as towns where marriages took place. I wonder if the ones you look for might have been married in a near by town instead? I didn't see the ones you asked for. I saw a few with the surname Düsing but not the ones you asked for.
There is a marriage for :
Christian David Pagel
+ Anna Christina Licht (of Lindow)
which took place in Jatzke 20 Oct 1798
Maybe someone else would have the correct kopulationsregister for you? Or perhaps a genealogist can help?
Best wishes, Pam
Hello Pam,
my name is Dieter Rohlack and I am a member of the
Mecklenburg-genealogy-list. So I got your email.
You wrote that you have some books of the kopulationsregister with
informations regarding Friedland.
Is it possible to let me know some dates of my realatives?
Carl Rohlack * 1802 - 1805, oo 1840 - 1842 with Marie Bauer
and
Minna Rohlack * 27.10.1800, oo 1830 - 1831 with ? Stenwedel.
I would like to have the exact dates. Pehaps you can help.
With friendly regards
Dieter Rohlack.
The book I have that corresponds to those dates is for years (1826-1875) and it includes these places:
Friedland, St. Marien
Friedland, St. Nikolai
Kotelow mit Klockow
Lübbersdorf
Klockow
I did not find any marriages at all for surname Rohlack or any similar spelling. Perhaps for those years there is another Kopulationsregister that contains your ancestors that would be in a different near by town? Are you sure the town was Friedland?
As you can see the earlier volume of Kopulationsregister 1751-1800 contained more small towns around Friedland. The volume for 1826-1875 appears to be filled up with mainly Friedland alone. This must have been due to growing population.
Hallo Herr Stahl,
ganz herzlichen Dank für das von Ihnen gelieferte Mosaik-Steinchen! Ich habe
mich sehr gefreut!
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Dieter Rohlack.
