die Einbürgerung was nicht eine Frage von Monaten, sondern mehr vielmehr eine von Jahren!! Manche Einwanderer wurden auch nie eingebürgert.
Auszug aus "Harvard encyclopedia of American ethnic groups" von Stephan Thernstrom - bei Google Books - auf Seite 740
"The Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization was established in 1906 in the Department of Commerce and Labor to administer a new naturalization law: the first major federal act since the law of 1802
that affected the naturalization process.....
The naturalization process itself comprised three steps: the filing of a declaration of intention [first papers], the filing of a petition for naturalization und the applicant's signature [second
papers] and a hearing on the petition which would grant or deny the certificate of naturalized citizenship [final papers]. The declaration had to be submitted no less than two years and no more than seven years before a petition was filed. There was a wait of 90 days between the petition and the hearing to allow time for an investigation and to make the hearing public....."
In dem Census von 1910, den Du zitierst, müßte ein Angabe enthalten sein, ob jemand bereits eingebürgert war oder eben nicht - vielleicht schaust Du die verschiedenen Schalten nochmals genau durch nach einer etwaig vorhandenen Abkürzung "Na" (= naturalized = eingebürgert). Meist findet sich ein solcher Hinweis "in der Nähe des angegebenen Einwanderungsjahres".
Ferner kann man z.B. bei Ancestry nach "Naturalization Records" suchen. Falls Du dies noch nicht getan hast, würde ich auf diese Art und Weise einmal versuchen herauszufinden, ob die Mitglieder der von Dir erforschten Familie überhaupt Anträge auf Einbürgerung gestellt haben bzw. ob und wann diese möglicherweise eingebürgert worden sind.
