Former german parts in FTM2017 and ancestry

Dear fellow researchers,

I work with Ancestry and Family Tree Maker 2017.

My question is,

How do you entert he places in former german parts.

e.g. Kalinigrad

My great grandfather was born in LAbiau, Kreis Stenken, Königsberg, Prussia

Do you now enter it with Kalinigrad, Russia, so FTM2017 can add the proeper
Place mark on the map and maybe add the old names before that?

Or do you enter:

Labiau, Kreis Stenken, Königsberg, Prussia and add the map manually?

Asking because if i add it wrong, i might have issues finding new documents

Thank you!

First of all, the place name is Stenken (today's Russian name: Липовка), and it used to be in Kreis Labiau (County of Labiau). Even though Kreis Labiau was part of the administrative district of Königsberg, you do neither enter 'Königsberg', nor do you enter 'Kaliningrad'.

In German the term Kreis is used before the name (Kreis Labiau) and not after it, as in English (Labiau County).
