Hello list,
My name is Peggy Geissler of Chicago, Illinois and have been searching for family on and off for the past 25-30 years.
The extent of my German language skills are minimal but through the years of looking at some of the same words over and over and the help of a good German dictionary (and once in a while a
translation site) I somehow manage to get by!!
My ultimate brick wall is my great-grandfather Ferdinand Friedrich Geissler but it is of my great-grandmother (his wife from his third marriage) that I write this e-mail about.
In trying to navigate and understand some of the databases on the Genealogy.net site I have come across information on what I believe to be my Rilling and Grauer ancestors.
My great-grandmother is Christina Rilling, born 26 June 1860, daughter of Anna Maria Grauer and Jacob Rilling of Gomaringen, Germany.
My question is how do I contact the researcher/source listed in the databases?
I know very little of Christina. I have found information on the LDS website which indicates she
came from a relatively large family, but appears to possibly be the only member of her family to have left Germany.
I have a certificate dated 1881 written in German which appears to have birth and baptisimal information on it (possibly for travel purposes), I have located the U.S. Passenger List which states she arrived in New York in 1881, and also a letter from what I believe to be a sister, niece and possibly grand-niece from the French Zone of Germany right around the end of World War II.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as to how I can contact the researchers so that I may learn more about Christina and share the info and pictures i have of her.
Thanks in advance for your time and advice.
Peggy Geissler
