I'm undertaking some research on Paul Hinrich Matthias Fölsche, who emigrated to Adelaide, Australia from Hamburg aboard the 'Reiherstieg' in mid-1854. He subsequently became a police inspector and a remarkable photographer.
His home village in the Kingdom of Hanover was Moorburg, close to Harburg, and just south of the Elbe from Hamburg. I would be very keen to hear from any list members who've either come across the Fölsche or Foelsche family, or who know anything of Moorburg.

I have been looking for information about my Voelsche forbears from Insel
Ruegen.

There are only 72 people by the name of Fölsche listed in the German phone book, perhaps you should consider phoning the two listed in Bremen, as there are no listings in Hamburg-Harburg area. Go to www.teleauskunft.de
Click on "das telefonbuch" go to detailed search and type in Fölsche nothing else.

Hello,
Perhaps you know this--the LDS (Mormons) have some persons from
Moorburg named Fölsche listed in their records, including Paul Hinrich.
If you do a Google search for Foelsche Moorburg, you will come across
several articles on Paul Fölsche.
