Please forgive my writing in English, my German in very limited.
I have read your email of 12 April with interest.
My ancestors are Skrotzkis and Skrodzkis. They came from Alt Jucha, Liskin and Pissanitzen in county (Kreis) Lyck (Elk) (Ostpreussia) and some worked in Konigsburg. The names Michael and Carl do not appear on my family tree at this time. Perhaps we will find we have common ancestors in the future.
I have prepared my family tree for my grandchildren. I will be happy to mail this to you if you will give your mailing address.
You may be interested to read the book "Pfarrer, Getsherren und Gelehfte" by Gisela Herrmann-Skrodzki (1991), pages 78 - 83. I will include these pages in the mail if you wish.

In my maternal grandma's address book, there appears a certain A. SKRODZKI, c/o E. Solies, of Neuwiese, Post Liebenfeldt, Kreis Labiau, Ostpreußen. This individual--I do not even know whether male or female--may have been related to us through my maternal Great-Grandfather Johann BOGATZ, born at Carlshof/Nikolaiken, Kreis Sensburg on November 11th, 1857 (married to Elisabeth née MEYER in 1881), died at Königsberg/Pr. on July 4th, 1932. His parents were Gottlieb BOGATZ and Mine, née NADOLNY, at least the latter of Carlshof/Nikolaiken as well. In the International Genealogical Index (Bach# 8505825 41, Source 1395961) one finds a Gottlieb BOGATZ (christened on November 30th, 1824) who is listed as being married to a certain Louise SKRODZKI. There is a small chance that these two Gottliebs are the same person, and that Gottlieb BOGATZ married twice.
I wonder if any of the above people appear in your family trees?
