Flamme ex "Brauschweig"

Hallo Ingrid,

I think I have already seen your Flamme/Wiedelah family somewhere. I too have notes of a Wilhelmine August Flamme baptised 24 June 1845, confirmed 1859. My notes show she had an illegitimate daughter 1868 Franziska Sophie Flamme married 1890.

The parents of Wilhelmine August Flamme were catholic Franz Flamme, a carpenter born 1808 in Lewe/Liebenburg and lutheran mother Sophie Christine Tappe - married 3/11/1836 in a Lutheran church ceremony. The father of Franz Flamme (the carpenter) was also a Franz Flamme, brinksitzer and miller of Liebenburg. (The old name of Liebenburg was Leve or Lewe).

The other children of FLAMME / TAPPE were all born Liebenburg:
Dorette 1837; Franz August 1840; Maria Augusta 1843:
Marie c 1848 confirmed 1862; Dina circa 1851 confirmed 1865.

Also in Liebenburg were Catholic:
Heinrich Flamme b 1772, shoemaker with wife Maria Josephe BEUGEN

Sohn:
Johann Flamme b 30 March 1808, butcher and wife Sophia STECHER b1820
father of Sophie was Christian STECHER shoemaker. Witness at Flamme/Stecher marriage 20 Feb. 1840 in Lewe was Clemens REITMEYER (L14 p 198/99 No.15)

The children of Flamme/STECHER all born in Lewe/Liebenburg were:

Dorothea b 1848: Theresa b 1851; Emilia b1852 and
Franziska Flamme b1843 Lewe, worker in Salzgitter, married musician Conrad Panitz. (they must have met at the Salzgitter music festival) Their 1st child Johanne Conradine Wilhelmine Panitz was born 1863 before the family emigrated to Manhattan USA Their niece Bertha Flamme followed years later. Notes: Bertha Flamme (25) /Black hair/brown eyes/ residence 'Lienbenberg(!) Germany, departed Bremen, arrived at Port of New York 12th Dec 1922 on ship 'George Washington, sponsored by Aunt Fr.Panitz'.

Some of the information was given by both Catholic, Hildesheim and Lutheran Brauchweig archives and I also have a few images.

I am still seeking a Wilhelmine Flemme/Flamme. There is confusion about her age because on 2nd April 1871 census she was recorded as being 14, therefore born circa 1856 but on 3rd April 1881 her age was given as 28. Is it too much of a coincidence to think her birthday was 3rd April & the transcriber should have typed 25 yrs old? Mina was living with the family of 'uncle' Conrad Ehlers and I haven't found his birth record yet.

Hi Rena,
perhaps I sent you my Flamme some times before and many thanks for your
Flamme, so I could complete my own data.
Could it be possible, that she had 2 illeg. daughters in 1865 Johanne
Auguste and 1868 the Franziska Sophie you mentioned.
I couldn't find Lewe. Thanks for decode it in Liebenburg.
Hoping I can collect more in November in Wolfenbuettel, where I would like
to search for more data.
Ingrid
Did you hear from Alexander because of your Reupke search.?? Normally he
writes directly, when I sent him notes (also to me), so I think, he isn't at
home for the moment.
