I have found that both death and marriage certificates from US usually just name the country that the parents came from, not anything else. But, there are many other way to find this and many were suggested. What gave me a big break were pensions records that did name a city in Germany. From there I got wonderful help from people on this list. More info that I could have dreamed of. You folks are wonderful!
