Family Surnames: Nebeck, Brandt

Here is some very sketchy details to anyone that may by chance have more information.

The name in America is spelled many different ways..Nebeck, Naback, Niebeck, Naebeck, Nabeack.

Karl (Carl) Nebeck emigrated from Germany. The only thing known is that it was from the Mecklenburg Area. The date is unknown but I am led to believe maybe it was in 1876 or so. So far I cannot find any further information.

His adopted son, Freidrich Nebeck born 4-30-1871, was supposedly born FREIDRICH BRANDT. The "legend" has it that his parents died and he was unofficially sent to the Nebeck's at a very early age between 1 and 3 years old. It is assumed that they may be related in some manner.

If anyone has heard of the names or would have any possible links to follow, I would very much appreciate it!

Thank You.

Professor-

Thank you very much for your reply. I will try to look up that area and see if I can find a Lutheran Church that may contain records. I am fairly new to genealogy, so let me know if you have any other hints.

Thank You.
