Looking for any family member or knowledge of the Vorwerk family. My Great
grandfather was Frank J Vorwerk. Born Feb 21st 1849 in a town called
Emsteck, Province of Oldenburg. His Fathers name was Nicolas and his Mothers
name was Christine ( Maiden name was Grave). He came from a family of seven
siblings. He left for the U.S.A. in 1868 at the age of 19, as King Williams
was taking all young men in the army and his mother wanted him to go to
America where he had a older brother and uncle, Anton. Any information would be

The emigration database www.auswanderer-oldenburg.de listed his emigration in the year 1860.
The origin of the Vorwerk's should be a farm in Cappeln (next corner) - more:
