Looking for information on the following names in Meinsen-Fauth/Spannuth and
even photographs for the present village or other photographs.
My wife's great great grandfather and grandmother was born in the County of
Buckeburg, Duchy of Schaumburg-Lippe in the village of Meinsen. Her great
great grandfather parents were Friedrich Wilhelm Fauth and Sophia Philipenia
Spannuth.(Anna Engel Sophie Leonore SPANNUTH) her father is from the family of the
blacksmith Wilhelm Hans SPANNUTH.
Anna Engel Sophie Leonore Spannuth born 1805, married 1833 Friedrich Wilhelm
Fauth and had the following children:
Ernst born 30 October 1835
Friedrich (Frederick) 30 October 1839
Karl(Carl)(Charles)
Wilhelm (whom was still living in Germany in 1902)
Frederick Wilhelm Fout was born in Meinsen, (near Buckeburg) Schuamburg
October 30, 1839. His father occupation was the village blacksmith. His wife
who he married in New York (August 27, 1866-the same day she arrived in the
United States) after she emigrated to the United States when she was 16, also was
from Meinsen. Her name was Mathilde C. Brandt (she was the school master
daughter)
Any information about the village of Meinsen or the family names of
Fauth/Spannuth or Brandt in the area mentioned above would be helpful
