Liebe Listenmitgleider,
I am sorry that I have to write in English, but I don't feel confident
enough in my German writing ability yet to put this to the list 'auf
Deutsch'. I have been reading for some time and hoping that I might
find somebody else who is researching the same names and/or places that
I am, but I haven't seen any yet. So, I would like to just add mine to
the list.
I am currently researching the Waldow, Luebke, Schuelke, Laude and
Scheewen families from Zuch, Kr. Neustettin.
I am also researching family from the Eifel region (was that part of
Preussen? I'm not sure...) The Schoenhofen, Messing and Schommer
families from the town of Dudeldorf. I am also trying to find out more
about a place called Eicherhof, which I believe was a farm near
Dudeldorf, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet. This is where
the Messing family is from.
Just one question, if anyone can answer for me, is if anyone can tell me
what part of Germany that people in the area of Kr. Neustettin may have
moved to after WWII? Did people tend to stay together, or was their
movement sporadic? I haven't been able to find out if my family was
still in Zuch at that time, but if they were, I'd like to know how to go
about figuring out where they ended up.
Thank you, and again, I am sorry that I had to write in English, but I
know that my German grammar would probably be too offensive to your
eyes.
Herzliche Gruesse auf Minnesota,
Nancy
