Expulsion Documentation, English edition

Perhaps I could ask a related question:

If a German family lived in Neuwedell (now Drawno, Poland), at the time of
the expulsions, were there some particular locations to which they might have
headed?

Would most have gone toward the Baltic Sea to escape by ship?
Would they have headed to Stettnin and west into Mecklenburg?
Would they have headed towards Berlin?

Thank you for any information or insights you may have!

They would have tried to go west by train or horse-and-buggy.
There are no sea ports, gasolin was not available.
