I would appreciate assistance in locating English resources on the History of Oldenburg and its towns. I am particularly interested in the towns of Wardenburg, Westerburg, and Littel.
Thanks,
Anna Meyer

Anna, most towns have some kind of local history society and may have
published a limited print of the town's history. Most of these works
are immediately out of circulation as they never produce enough. Folks
don't have the resources to print more copies that they know will sell
immediately but none of these works are translated for an
international market. It's just local history for the folks in the
neighborhood. Even a history of the entire Grand Duchy would be very
difficult to find in any langauge other then German.

Hi, Anna.
I Googled the two words: Wardenburg Oldenburg and came upon an interesting Wiki site in German. "Translate this page" is available for the web site. It isn't perfect by a long shot, but until you get something better, that will give you a little information.
One of my ancestors is from Wardenburg, but I can't find which one right now. I'll keep looking. Maybe we have someone in common.

Goodmorning Anna,
One of my ancestors, my great grandfather was born in a very small town
near Wardenburg, called Oberlethe. And both his parents were from
Wardenburg. I believe I have ancestors that perhaps could be related to you
and I also like to know more of the history of the region.
If you can locate certain information in German I could translate it for
you. I am very good in English and I am fairly good in German.
