English main page

Ein Thema, das eher für unsere englischsprechenden GenWiki-Bearbeiter
interessant ist.

A topic more interesting for the English-speaking GenWiki editors...

The Englisch GenWiki main page http://wiki-en.genealogy.net does not look as
nice as the German one. I have tried to create a page that uses the same
layout than the German main page: <http://wiki-en.genealogy.net/Sandbox&gt;

There are still some missing articles linked from that page. If those parts
are not so interesting for out English visitors right now, we could simple
remove them.

Do you think we can replace the current main page with the new one, soon?

you hit the point !!

Our present WIKI-EN main page is as bold and ugly as it can be...

It's really frustrating, for years I'm trying to get someone to do some
WIKI work,
but after some training they usually disappear after a short while..

I seem to be the only one trying to get some action, but all my other
activities
keep me pretty busy around the clock..

There are still some missing articles linked from that page. If those parts
are not so interesting for out English visitors right now, we could simple
remove them.
  

I wouldn't recommend to remove anything.. ( maybe just "blanking" them
out)..
some day we might be lucky enough to find a caring soul..

I would say "YES", even if it's not perfect yet..

Ok, I just switched to the new layout. It's not the same three column layout
the German version uses. However, we can put these sections back when we have
more Enlish content.

I "invented" a new portal for emigration. That topic might be more interesting
for our English readers at the beginning.

Schaut doch alle mal auf unsere englische Version des GenWiki
http://wiki-en.genealogy.net drauf.

Da sollten viel mehr von uns Informationen hinzufügen. Bloß nicht schüchtern
sein, ich kann das auf Englisch auch nicht so toll schreiben. Verwenden wir
für das GenWiki einfach die Amtssprache auf wissenschaftlichen Konferenzen:
BSE[1]. Ich bin mir recht sicher, daß das unsere englischsprechenden Leser
nicht sehr stört. Und wenn, dann können sie die sprachlichen Fehler ja recht
einfach verbessern.
