Dear Mr. Schneider,

As I have Engelhardts amongst my ancestors too, I've been trying to find
more information on the Internet as well (like you I'm trying to research in
Germany from abroad - in my case from The Netherlands).

I found a document called "*E N G E L H A R D T, Namensvorkommen und
Stammfolgen*", dated 2002. [*] This was written by one Dr. Rother Michael
Snethlage and Gustav and Thomas Engelhardt.

May be you'll find useful information in that document!

My "own" ancestor Engelhardt is an Eva Barbara Engelhardt who married on
August 28th, 1753 with my forefather Johann Caspar Schultheiß.

Eva was referenced as "weyl. Johannes Engelhardts, gewesenen Bürgers und
Inwohners zu Baiersdorf nachgelassener Tochter". Baiersdorf is in Franken
too.

Eva died December 17th, 1787, almost 70 years old, in Vach, which is since
1972 a part of Fürth (not far from Nürnberg). With respect to her burial it
was mentioned she was born in Baiersdorf indeed on January 13th, 1717 as a
daughter of Heinrich [sic!] Engelhardt, citizen of Baiersdorf, and Barbara
Fick.

I have not yet found more information about Eva's parents and their
ancestors.

Good luck with your research!! And should you ever by accident find details
about Eva's ancestry, then I would obviously be very pleased to receive them
from you.

Best regards from The Netherlands,

Jan Schultheiss
