Brigette, I would have to make a guess because I don't know the answer to
your question. I would think "Hannover" because the related BAUER family were
not (I think) of Swiss origin."My" BAUERS also settled in the same area, Yonkers,
NY, about the mid 1850's, and were tailors. My grandfather EGGERS' American born
wife was Christina BAUER, a daughter of Jacob BAUER and Mary Magdalene EBERLE.
