Dreier Family and Olberding Family

Hello,

I am trying to find out more about the family members.

My grandfather was John F. Dreier, born in the United States. His father (my Great-grandfather) was Charles Karl Dreier. I believe he was born in Germany, but cannot find a record.
My great-great grandfather was Frank H Dreier who was born in Oldenburg on December 30, 1825. He was married to Carolina Rathman (born in 1830). I believe their wedding date was October 17, 1855.

My grandmother was born Rose Agnes Olberding, was born in the United States. Her father was Herman Henrich Olberding, I believe on September 29, 1859. He was married to Agnes (Mary) Schaefer in 1888 I believe. Agnes Mary Schaefer was born in 1865 in Oldenburg.

My Great-great Grandfather was Johann Henrich Olberding born November 7, 1821. He married Maria Agnes Kruse, but I do not have any further information about that family.

I would be interested to know more about the Schaefer family as well.

Also, I plan to be in Germany in early July, and plan to visit Oldenburg. I understand that some records are public and some are church records. I would appreciate any information about the availability of records, or any persons I could contact while there to help me in further searches.

Hello Mary,

your folk came from Steinfeld (in Oldenburg), like my ancestors.
I have the records of Steinfeld and will create family history for Dreyer/Dreier and Olberding. I will send it directly to you (with copy for Gunter and Father David).
We have not Schaefer in in our area, it could be Sch�per of Damme, I will check too.
