Somewhere we must have some cousins of cousins to connect us. I had the Hannover Germans in the northern part of Ripley County - but my husband's people were pioneers in the south and lived in all three. His Dad used to tell people that he was born in Rising Sun, and then locate it for strangers by telling them it was right across the river from Rabbit Hash Kentucky, His SE IN ancestors would include Palmers, Arfords, Kinnetts, Boyles, Watts, Sebree, plus cousins and in-laws which I might remember better if it werent almost tomorrow. He had a verygreataunt Fanny who married a Smith- thats as close as I can get to your Schmidts -- unless by some chance they met my Oldenburg family across the water.
I know there are some of my Rimstidt cousins in that area - though I have never had the pleasure of meeting any of them. The eversogreatgrandparents who emigrated had 17 children... tho several died in Germany. Another was born at sea.
Small world. Somewhere there must be a line we can both work on!
