Hallo zusammen,

Kathleen Reed aus den USA möchte die DNA-Test von Personen, die Vorfahren im
Oldenburger Land haben mit denen von Personen in Cincinnati abgleichen, um
so die Familien zusammenführen zu können.
Sie gleicht die Tests über Gedmatch ab und bittet daher diejenigen aus dem
Oldenburger Land, die dort ihre Rohdaten hochgeladen haben, ihr die
Gedmatch-Nr. mitzuteilen.
Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass es einige gibt, die zwar einen DNA-Test
gemacht haben, aber dann nicht wissen, wie es weitergehen kann. Einen Teil
hat vielleicht auch nur die Herkunftsschätzung, mit der in TV und Co immer
geworben wird, gelockt, um dann festzustellen, dass das nicht so
funktioniert, wie dort angepriesen.
DNA-Genealogie ist mehr als nur diese Herkunftsschätzung, die man, ich sage
es mal vorsichtig, eher mit einem Schmunzeln zur Kenntnis nehmen sollte.
Das eigentlich Interessante bei der DNA-Genealogie sind die sogenannten
Matche. Das sind Personen, mit denen man sich gewisse Segmente DNA teilt,
etwas vereinfacht ausgedrückt, je weiter der gemeinsame Vorfahre entfernt,
desto niedriger die gemeinsamen Segmente. Das Ganze ist sicher viel zu
komplex, um es hier in Kürze beschreiben zu können.

Mit diesem sogenannten Matching arbeitet Kathleen Reed und das ist ihr
anhand von Gedmatch https://www.gedmatch.com/login1.php möglich.
Gedmatch bietet die Möglichkeit, DNA-Tests, die bei unterschiedlichen
Anbietern gemacht wurden, auf sogenannte Matche, untereinander
abzugleichen. Die Chancen, so auf Menschen zu treffen, die die gleichen
Vorfahren haben wie man selber, erhöhen sich dadurch. DNA-Genealogie kann
auch bei der Überwindung eines toten Punktes weiterhelfen.
Wenn man seinen Rohdaten, die man beim jeweiligen Anbieter der DNA-Tests
herunterladen kann, bei Gedmatch hoch lädt, bekommt man eine Kit-Nummer,
diese Nummer benötigt Kathleen für ihre Arbeit mit den Tools von Gedmatch.
Hilfreich ist bei der ganzen Sache natürlich, wenn man einen Stammbaum hat,
der ggf. auch eingesehen werden kann. Bei Gedmatch ist auch das Hochladen
von Gedcom-Dateien möglich.

Gedmatch offers the possibility to compare DNA tests, which were made with
different providers, to so-called "matches". The chances of meeting people
who have the same ancestors as you do increase it. DNA genealogy can also
help in overcoming a dead spot.
If you upload your raw data, which you can download from the DNA testing
provider, to Gedmatch, you'll get a kit number, which Kathleen needs for her
work with Gedmatch's tools.
Of course, it is helpful with the whole thing if you have a pedigree, which
can also be viewed if necessary. Gedmatch can also upload Gedcom files.

Hello Kathleen,

I just did One-To-Many with my Kit on Gedmatch and looked for your mail
address, and yes, we have a match (small, but none the less). The
One-To-One reveals this:

Chr B37 Start Pos'n B37 End Pos'n Centimorgans (cM) SNPs
8 28,489,068 39,913,064 9.7 1,765

Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 5.6 - which is actually not
that far off since my great-great grand father (Gen 3) was the one of
whom I know he's from the Oldenburger Land, his parents might also have
been but I am yet to find out more about them.

heißt die Teilortschaft in Schortens Bohlswarfe oder Bohlswarfen?
Im Ofb Schortens und Zetel ist es Bohlswarfe.
Im Ofb Accum und Sande ist es Bohlswarfen.

Welche Schreibweise ist richtig? Beide?
Oder sind es zwei verschiedene Orte?
