Burkhard HAAS, der sich 1840 mit der Brigg Nyord in Hamburg einschiffte,
und am 17.8.1840 in NY landete. M�glicherweise stammt er aus der Umgebung
Frankfurt a.M.� s
"Burkhard Haas came to America aboard the brig Nyord from Hamburg,
arriving in New York City on August 17, 1840. I know a great deal about his
life in America. He and his son Joseph served in the American Civil War, but
in all of the documentation I have found, there is not one word of his
origins in Germany, not one word. Margarethe Auel, his wife, was born
somewhere near Frankfurt around 1820, and I think that's Frankfurt Am Main.
Her father's name was Peter and that is what I have learned over 20 years."
Sicher schwierig, aber vielleicht spielt Kommissar Zufall mit.
