I have seen the spelling of the name DETTMAR and at this time do not think it is my husbands ancestors. However, I am keeping a copy of your response just in case.
Someone else had mentioned Emsland to me and it will be worth checking into. Also the fact that 98% were catholics fits.
The sentence on Anna Maria Beckmann is definitely a strong possibility! I have not checked into the New Orleans immigrants. Her birth year fits as perhaps being a mother to my person.
