Good morning Fiona,
I'sorry - but to give you hints for Dethlefsen here in Schleswig-Holstein we need some more information. Especially in the west and north (and in Denmark too) its a fairly
common name. Like Petersen, Hansen and Tiessen and in the various spelling modi. Sometimes you get the impression these are the only surnames there.
Where, do you think, his ancestors came from?
Regards Joachim
Good morning Joachim
Thank you for your email. I have found a relative of my husband called
Ernst Hinrich Detlevsen born in Gnissau 6 November 1892 and died in Bad
Segeberg on 25 September 1971. I am not sure what relation he was. My
husbands grandfather was Franz Friedrich Detlefsen (no more
information). He had 4 children.
Hinrich Johannes Detlefsen, Magda Elfrieda Detlevsen (my husband's
mother), Emma Christine Sievers (geb. Detlevsen) and Annemarie Hoop
(geb. Detlevsen).
Annemarie Hoop born in Zimmert uber Rieseby. The names Haht aus
Pansdorf and Hans Gunter Detlevsen aus Windeby bei Echkernforde are also
relations but I don't know who.
We would be grateful for any information of the Detlefsen or Detlevsen
family. My husband Rolf Detlevsen was born in Lunden.
We live in Perth, Western Australia and there is an Otto Dethlefsen
here, we have spoken to him but we don't think he is any relation, he is
from Copenhagen, Denmark. He does have relations from Husum a Sofia
Emilia Petersen born 23 Dec 1804 and died 1895 also the name Heling 25
June 1841.
Regards
Fiona Detlevsen
