Hello all. Seems my great-grandfather, Hermann Husselmann, fell from
the sky. He was originally from Celle, arrived in South Africa in
1824 where he died in 1888. From there on the history is easy, but I
can find NOTHING about him about his German history at all. Is there
anyone that can help, or that can point me towards a place to research?

when nobody has something about your Hermann in the collection the only chance you have is to check the parish registers for Celle.
They are to find here: http://www.kirche-hannover.de/kirchenbuchamt/archivbestand.html or maybe it is possible to order the microfilmes at the Mormons. Check it here www.familysearch.org.

The German telephone book http://www.dastelefonbuch.de/ shows 10 hits for
Husselmann. Why don't you write them a letter, asking them if they have
ancestors from Celle or surroundings?

There are many records about Celle in the LDS (Morman) records. There
are church records as well as other types of information. I see that there
are a number of LDS Family History Centers in New Zealand. You could contact
one or more that may be close to where you live and see if you can order
records from there. Go to this page:

That is where you can see the list of Centers.
