Death notice

Hallo dear friends from the US,

I have a death notice from an American newspaper of an ancestor, I don't
understand. Especially the names in brackets. Who is able to explain ?

" Wanda (Ufnasch) Thiele

beloved wife of Albrecht D. Thiele, dear mother of Albrecht G (Donna),
Frederick (Susan) Thiele; dear grandmother of Albrecht P. (Tonia), Lauren,
Jessica and the late Josef Thiele; sister of Celia (late Peter)(George
Begole) Dziedzic, John (Linda) and Peter Buliga, also survived by nieces and
nephews ...."

Thank You in advance

Wilhelm (Thiele)

That is the name of their spouses. Albrecht G. is married to Donna.

Thank You John,

but what means Ufnasch?, what means Celia (late Peter)(George
Begole) Dziedzic, John (Linda) and Peter Buliga ?

Scincerely

Wilhelm (Thiele)

That would have been Wilma's maiden name, the name of her family of
origin or birth. (late Peter) means that Celia is a widow who had been
married to the deceased Peter Dziedzic. After Peter's death she
remarried, this time to George Begole. Or she may have married George
first, it's hard to tell from an obit. Peter Buliga seems to be a half
brother indicating that Wilma's mother married someone named Buliga at
one point.

An obituary can be a good source of info but once armed with the info,
you need to search the census records for clarification.

John

The name in parentheses is, I assume, the maiden name or spouse's name. I
would guess that Wanda Thiele's maiden name was Ufnasch.

Albrecht G. was married to a woman named Donna, Frederick was married to
Susan, Albrecht P. was married to Tonia, and John's wife name was Linda.

The only person that confuses me is Celia (sister of Wanda Thiele). I don't
know if she's a widow and her first husband's name was Peter, and her second
husband's name was George Begole Dziedic. But the name "Begole" sounds like
it is a surname, not a middle name. Also, since Ufnasch was probably her
maiden name, I don't understand why her brothers would have a different
surname (Buliga). My guess would be that they may be half siblings.
Perhaps Wanda's mother was married 2 times and had children by both
husbands.

"The late" means that the person is deceased. "Survived by" means that
those people are still living.

I hope this explanation makes sense. Good luck in your search!
