Danke & more Hachez questions

A grateful thank you to Falk Liebezeit for the advice to contact Staatsarchiv
Oldenburg, Samm 43, 26135 Oldenburg, e-mail: oldenburg@nla.niedersachsen.de

And to Elizabeth whose posts in English are so helpful. I have now done a Hachez
search at the Oldenburg online datebases here:

Many of the Hachez items relate to the Hachez chocolate company founded by a
first cousin of my ancestor who came to America. Eg., they are Korrespondenz mit
der Bremer Chokolade-Fabrik Hachez & Co.

Two items that turned up are useful confirmation for me. I am posting the German
titles and then translations by Babelfish and Google for review to see if they
are accurate or how they might be improved:

No. 1 - Schätzung der den Erben des verstorbenen J:F:D: Hachez in Bremen
gehörigen Grundstücke in Grebswarden, Blexen, Schweewarden und Widders. Darin:
Auszug aus dem Erdbuch von 1731.

GOOGLE: Estimate of the heirs of the late J: F: D: Hachez in Bremen
corresponding plots in Grebswarden, Blexen, Schweewarden and ram. Where: Extract
from the Erdbuch of 1731st

BABELFISH: Estimation that inheriting the deceased J: F: D: Hachez in Bremen of
properties belonging to in Grebswarden, Blexen, Schweewarden and Widders.
Therein: Excerpt from the earth book of 1731.

Would it be right that this document provides an estimate of the value of the
properties in Grebswarden, Blexen, Schweewarden and Widders that would be
inherited by the heirs of the deceased J. F. D. [Johann Ferdinand Dominicus]
Hachez, as shown in the Land Book of 1731? I know he had such properties,
typically farm land. This inheritance was actually in the mid-1800s.

No. 2 - Darlehen an die Witwe des Kaufmanns Christian Ehlers, Johanna Henriette
Margarete, geb. Ilksen, zu Blexen, später Ehefrau des Jean Ferdinand Hachez zu
Bremen

GOOGLE: Loans to the widow of businessman Chris Ehlers, Johanna Henriette
Margarete, born Ilksen to Blexen, later wife of Jean Ferdinand Hachez to Bremen

BABELFISH: Loan to the widow of the buyer Christian Ehlers, Johanna Henriette
Margarete, geb. Ilksen, to Blexen, late wife of the Jean Ferdinand Hachez to
Bremen

Would it be right that this document is about a loan to Johanna Henriette
Margarete, born Ilksen, of Blexen, widow of merchant or buyer Christian Ehlers,
also later or late [?] or subsequently wife of Jean [Johann] Ferdinand Hachez? I
know she married twice, C. Ehlers first, J. Hachez second.

A most sincere thank you,

I am not familiar with that company, but since you are related to the founder did you contact the company? They may have developed his family history as part of their history.

Dear Barbara,

They have copies of the Blexen vitzal records at the Oldenburg state archives ...

Erben here: heirs (not: inheriting)

Greetings

Falk

Hello Barbara,

Good advice from Keith try HACHEZ Chocoladen & Confiserie Pralinés

There is a brief history, click on contact and send them an email, maybe their family history has already been written and published.

Perhaps the company will put you in contact with one of the Hachez descendants.
