Cloppenburg Museum

Hallo, Fred,

Yes, I first encountered some Cloppenburg photos on your site, and enjoyed
them very much! Thank you!

But, I was fortunate enough to visit Germany for the first time last August
and got to see it first hand. They had a brief paper program in English,
which states, (well, I can't find the quote at the moment) that you can see
[from the poor conditions] why your ancestor left Germany. I LOVED
Cloppenburg, which ran a close second to standing on the land on which my
ancestor was born! I may post photos at a later date - I'm still working on
labeling them.

I think the 3rd best time was visiting the open air museum in Mnster -
similar to Cloppenburg, but not as large.

Our research was moved light years ahead by the wonderful archivist in the
municipal building in Neuenkirchen. There are just not enough ways to say
"thank you" to this wonderful lady. And this was all facilitated by our
"cousin" whom I met through this very list.

The Oldenburg-l list is a good thing!
