Hi Listers,

I'm trying to find name for ancestors origins. I have a photo of him from a Gelsenkirchen studio.
A birth record for his daughter lists another city as his home. I can not make out all of it but this is what I can tell:
SCHEVE---LY It could also begin SCHERENELY but is only a guess. The document is 50 years old.
Any ideas on this.

Hi Gordon,

interpreting old handwriting (especially German alphabet) needs training. It
would help if you could include a scan of the paper with this special word.
