Is anyone familiar with the column headings in German Church records?
I was looking through the records for the Neuhaldensleben church record for the years 1848 through 1858. They were written in the old script. The top of each column was written so small, I could not decipher what is was saying.
I have been training in reading the old script, but the writing was was so small and unreadable for many of the letters, I could not make out the many of the words.
I am specifically looking at records used in Neuhaldensleben and Magdeburg. Different provinces / states, although Lutheran, may be using different formates.
I am wondering if the is a key available. Or is there a good genealogy book with both German and English common words.
