My parents were both born in Germany. Christening was done quite soon after
birth. I was born here and baptized within one month of my birth, which was
custom in the Catholic church at that time according to my mother. It is not
unusual for baptisms to be from the date of birth until a month later,
depending on certain conditions such as weather and how far away the priest
was.
