I have been reading the postings on this list for several months, but I have not seen any reference to my surname interest (SCHUBERT) or its location. So I have decided to post my own interest.
I am searching for information on the birth or baptism of Carl Gottlieb SCHUBERT, who was born in 1730 in Graebel (now Grobla, in Poland) near Bolkenhain (now Bolkow), in the Principality of Silesia-Schlesien. He married in Hannover in 1764 and again in 1767, and he and his second wife then raised a large family in Braunschweig. One of their sons went to England in about 1806, and one of their great grandsons (my great-grandfather) emigrated to Australia in 1855.
I would like to contact anyone interested in this SCHUBERT family. I would also like to find out how I can search for a Lutheran church records of the baptism of Carl Gottlieb SCHUBERT and of his parents marriage. It is understood that they were Lutherans, probably Evangelical Lutherans.
