On 24 Sept I saw 2 postings including the word BURGDORF. I do not speak or read German so I was unable to translate. But someone told me that the word Burgdorf referred to a surname and not the town of Burgdorf. I am searching for ancestors of Julius Wilhelm Burgdorf who emigrated from Hamburg to New Orleans about 1860. On a baptismal certificate for one of his sons, Julius listed his birth place as Hildesheim in Hanover. I do not know the name of his parents or whether or not he had siblings. After he came to America he married Maria Kirschbein from Berlin. If either Reinhard or Ursula who posted messages think there may be connection, please reply. You can post on the Hannover site or directly to me at pharmaxx@charter.net.

I knew Norman Burgdorf as a neighbor in the 1930s in St. Louis, and phoned
him in the 1980s. His father was an auto dealer.
