Brustkrankheit

I received some records of the death of two of my female ancestors in Herford in the early 1700's. The records indicated that they died of 'brustkrankheit,' which I translate to 'breast disease.' For this period, would that have been pneumonia or breast cancer or some other illness?

Vielen Dank,

David Fleer

Ernest Thode's German English Genealogy Dictionary translates
'Brustkrankheit,' as pneumonia, consumption; lit. "chest sickness" and
"Brustkrebs" as breast cancer
