To Marlene: No, I don't think there is any connection. Doris BRUNS was born in Vilsen (only lived in Bremen much later) and that is a long, long ways fromBederkese. BRUNS in undoubtedly the most common name in Niedersachsen (like Smith here) so you will run into this all the time. It is very difficult to sort out one from the other. Jane
