Born 16 August 1836 in Gesmold to Johann Heinrich Komaescher and Katharina Elizabetha Broxtermann.
Paternal grandparents are Johann Mathias Komaescher and Anna Sophia Welling
Maternal grandparents are Mathias Broxtermann and Anna Sophia Gerve.
Sophie emigrated from Bremen on the "Inca" and arrived in Baltimore on 8/15/1842.
She married Joseph Kitten and is affectionately known as "Little Grandma Sophie." When I wrote a book about the Kitten family in 1995 Sophie and Joseph accounted for more than 2,000 "Kitten Kinder."
We would very much like to extend the line further back and, of course, possibly find some of the family. German Kittens have joined us for our family reunions, so we would love to have Komaeschers, Broxtermanns, and anybody else we can find that shares genetic or familial responsibility forall of us.
