Thank you for your reply. I found Nathaniel Nohren age 12 living with a
family named Smith in the 1850 census. The name is spelled different but he's in
the correct area that he later shows up in 1870 census, he doesn't show in
the 1880 census because they spelt his name as "Hohern". I have found numerous
mistakes in age and spelling both by census takers or people who transcribed
the hand wrote forms years later. one of the problems I have with the family
name Nohearn is that there are no other people in the United states that I
can find that have this last name who are not related to him. It makes me
think that the name is misspelled.
Ancestry. com has a listing in there World version for a Ignatus Nohearn
from the following source.
"KONIGL GROBBRITANNISCHER HANNOVERSCHER STAATSKALENDER AUF DAS JAHR 1818'
There are also listing for him on various other years up 1850, but I don't
have access two the world version, of Ancestry. I also have his death
certificate, have seen his tomb stone, know his wife's maiden name and have followed
that back to about 1790. My problem is Ignatus Nohearn in Hanover Germany.
Thank you for your interest in my quest. Ed Chester
