I am trying to trace my ancestry. Johann Heinrich Brandhorst (John Henry Brandhorst) was born about 1835 and lived in Neuenkirchen, Melle District, Kingdom of Hannover.
I am trying to located records of him and his brother, Herman Heinrich Brandhorst.
Does anyone know of this family or where the church records for Neuenkirchen are archived?
Thank You!

Hello James,
If you are near an LDS center, you can view films from Neuenkirchen in
the Melle district. The church records are earlier than your ancestor, but
may be helpful as you work your way through the years:
Copy of the marriage records in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Neuenkirchen. Includes index to marriages. Includes births 1684-1755.
There are also some census records, from 1808-1812:
Civil registration of births, marriages, marriage banns, and deaths for
Neuenkirchen and Sankt Annen, later called Schiplage. Includes some indexes.
Some records are in Latin.
There appears to be emigration records for Neuenkirchen in the Osnabrück
archives:
Kirchspiel Neuenkirchen - St. Annen
The names of Brandhorst are:
PERS Brandhorst, Hermann Heinrich 19345
PERS Brandhorst, Hermann Heinrich 19346
PERS Brandhorst, Hermann Heinrich 19608
PERS Brandhorst, Johann Heinrich 19608
PERS Brandhorst, männl. + weibl. 19346
PERS Brandhorst, Marie Caroline 18497
PERS Brandhorst, Marie Elisabeth 18495
The numbers of 19608 point to Neuenkirchen. You can order the records
and find information on them. I am presuming that your people emigrated.
Good luck,
Barbara
