To the list,

I am searching Germany for Henry William Meyer whos records here say he
was born 3 Aug 1843 at Bossum Hannover. The record here states his
parents as Arendt and Anna Meyer. I am having no luck finding Bossum. Is
it possible there is no such place? Any one with help would be
appreciated. Could it be the spelling is wrong and maybe it is Bassum?

your consideration seems to be quite reasonable:

neither fallingrain.org nor gov.genealogy.net show a place called Bossum in Germany, but see these:

Hinderk Willms Meyer is listed in the Ortsfamilienbuch BORSSUM/Ostfriesland (Nr.944) without birthdate, birthplace, parents or death date.
He was married to Antje Aielts Maarfeld, also without dates and origin.
The couple had 5 children in Borssum:
Albert Hinderks born 1881
Antje Hinderks born 1884
Zwantje Hinderks born 1887
Eilt Christian born 1890
Jantje Hinderks born 1895
Probably the family you are looking for.
