A book I recently purchased from Origins in Janesville, WI was published in 2003 in English. It's title is "North Germany to North America", 19th Century Migration by R L Stockman. ISBN O-9665502-1-8. It contains more than 600 pages and is in paper cover, size approximately 8X11.I have just begun to read it; but anyone interested in that area of Germany who wants to read something in English would benefit. It emphasizes those who came and settled in midwestern America, New York, and Texas. Chapter One goes into all the reasons that led up to migration from Northern Germany in the 1800's.

There are many figures, tables and small pictures. One thing I find it is lacking is real good maps; but they can be found elsewhere.
