Bolling, peters, rippe, staats, tomfohrde

I am searching for information on my below-named ancestors, all born in
Hannover, Germany (whether City or Kingdom, I don't know). If you have
any information as to their parentage or any suggestions as to how I
might best proceed in my search, I would very much appreciate your
response.

HENRY F. BOLLING, who was born abt 1860 and believed to have landed in
New York on the ship "Neckar" on 8/15/1879. He first appeared in the
1887 Houston, Texas City Directory as a clerk in a hotel owned by JOHN
TOMFOHRDE, also from Hannover and a friend of HENRY's parents who
remained in Hannover. In 1889, HENRY married MARY SIMON and had a son
named CHARLES EUGENE. HENRY died in 1892 while on a business trip to
San Antonio, Tx.

TRENETTA PETERS, who was born in 1839 and, according to the U.S. Census,
immigrated to the U.S. in 1845, at age 6. Nothing is know of her life
before her 1856 marriage in Brazoria County to an Alsation immigrant
GREGORY SIMON. In the 1880 U.S. Census, ALBERT and DORA RIPPE (of whom,
more below) were living in TRENETTA's home in Brazoria and listed as her
"father" and "mother".

ALBERT RIPPE, who was born abt 1804, immigration date unknown. His
first appearance in U.S. records is in the 1850 Census of Brazoria
County, Tx together with three other RIPPE surnames, perhaps his
children: DOCIA, age 14; PRUDENCE, age 9; and CHRISTIAN, age 17, all
also born in Hannover, Germany.

DORA STAATS, who was born abt 1813, immigration also unknown. "STAATS"
is believed, but not confirmed, to be her surname. As mentioned above,
she appears as DORA RIPPE, wife of ALBERT, in the 1880 Census living in
the Brazoria, Tx home of TRENETTA PETERS SIMON and listed as TRENETTA's
mother.

Thank you for reading this and, again, if you have any information
regarding these good people, I would very much appreciate your response.
