Could someone please help?
I am trying to find Theodore Thien born 1829 in Hanover, Germany (according
to Civil War papers). He is my brickwall and I have searched everywhere for
a birthplace for him. I recently saw on the internet that there were
Thien/Thyens in Bokoloh, Kreis Meppen Hannover who immigrated to the U.S.I tried the LDS church site for locating records but came up with nothing.
Could someone tell me, if Bokoloh is the town or is Kreis Meppen the town
or is there such an area.
Also there may be a tie to Oldenburg. Is this a town near the above area?
Any help would be appreciated in locating any info on Theodore Thien.
Church records in St. Louis, Civil War records and census turn up no clue.
