Hello List.........
After reading the Fehmarn-L archives, I come as a new member, with hopes of finding some assistance
and information about my Fehmarn ancestors.
With the great information in John Kostick's database, several years of thinking, and some good luck,
I was able to prove that my Grandfather is from the Fehmarn Island. I am an American descendent of
Heinrich Bliesmer, b. 1861, Lemkendorf. We have an excellent USA Family Tree of Heinrich's children.
There were 13, and of this, 9 survived. If anyone is interested in the American descendents for Heinrich,
please feel free to ask. Other Fehmarn family names also include Langbehn and Wulff.
But information for my Grandfather ancestors seems to stop, and there is no more data. To find Heinrich
in the database, one must search for Bliesemer. But his father was Marcus Casper Bliesmer, b. abt 1825,
in Dahme. I can find no siblings for Marcus. Marcus went to Fehmarn, from the mainland, and married
Louise Fredericke Schumacher. I found this Schumacher family in the database.
Marcus father was Christian Bliesmer, who married Catharina Dorothe Hansen. Again, there are no other
children for Christian, and no siblings for Christian. *One item found that a Christian Bliesmer was married
to a Elsabe Margarethe Prüs, and had a daughter Margaretha Frederica Bliesmer, born in Dahme, 1790(??)
Is there anyone who can help me try to locate siblings of Marcus and Christian, on the mainland area.
I am working with other American Bliessmer, and each has an ancestor in this area, but no more data.
It is possible we may be connected from some of these ancestors, but can find no information.
I thank each and all of you who may be able to help with this information.
There are more questions, but I have already asked too much for being new to the list.
Thank you from USA.
Richard
